One academic year includes four terms and each term is nine weeks long. Each semester has two terms. Tuition needs to be paid in each semester (two terms). However, if a student missed the beginning of a semester but still has time to study for at least nine weeks, then the student will be allowed to enroll for one term during that semester.

The tuition fees do not include the cost of textbooks and supplemental materials. The estimated cost per term is $200. Due to the online section of the textbooks, you will need to purchase a new set of textbooks for each level of placement before classes start.

GED Boot Camp Program

GED Boot Camp is a special program that focuses on passing GED diploma. Students will be studying GED simulated GED questions 7 days a week and 8 hours a day. Instructors will develop customized study plan for each student. The goal of this boot camp is to ensuring students passing GED exams.

The GED Boot Camp tuition includes all study materials, all software, and instruction.

Students will be responsible for their own computers and meals.

Registration and Enrollment

Students are able to enroll at any point prior to beginning of their desired semester and prior to the payment deadline (5 business days prior to the start of the semester).

ELI has the privilege of hosting 3 different types of students: new students, current students, and transfer students. Students should review the steps below to register for classes as ELI.

New Students

New students at ELI are international students who decide to take ELI classes for the first time. In order to register, students must complete the following steps:

  1. Once accepted for enrollment, contact the Registrar at admission@elinc.edu to make a 25% payment to reserve a spot in the course
  2. Make the full payment no later than 5 days before the start of class
  3. Complete the mandatory Versant Placement Test
Current Students

Current students at ELI refer to students who have taken at least one level at ELI. In order to enroll in a new level or class, students must follow the Level Repeat and Level Progression and Completion policies as outlined by the ELI Student Handbook.

Transfer Students

Transfer students are international students who are currently studying at a school in the United States but wish to study at ELI in a future term. These students are allowed to pay for each term separately. In order to register, students must complete the following steps:

  1. Once accepted for enrollment, contact the Registrar to make a 25% payment to reserve a spot in the course
  2. Make the full payment no later than 5 days before the start of class
  3. Complete the mandatory Versant Placement Test

Payments

 All payments must be made in full at the latest five business days before classes start. If payment is not made, the student will be removed from the semester roster and forfeit the enrollment fee. ELI accepts payments in the form of bank wire, cash, check, PayPal, and credit cards. Please note that payments made using a credit card will incur a 4% fee. All other payment types do not incur a fee.

Late Registration

Students registering after the payment deadline (five business days prior to the start of the semester) will be subjected to a $75 late penalty charge. Late registration requests must be made in writing and require approval from the Academic Dean. All late registrations must make payment in full once approval has been authorized.

Withdrawal

Students are able to withdraw from the course at any point prior to the payment deadline (5 business days prior to the start of the semester) but will forfeit their enrollment fee. Full refunds are provided for students that have mitigating circumstances, which are defined as situations that are beyond the control of the student:

  • Hospitalization of the student or immediate family member
  • Death of an immediate family member
  • Natural disaster which prevents travel to the ELI facilities (international students only)

Students must submit in writing the situation that is causing the withdrawal and provide proof of the mitigating circumstances when applicable. Withdrawals of any other nature will not be refunded in full or in part.

Refund Policy

  • 100%  refund for withdrawals within the first five (5) days of orientation.
  • 50% refund  for withdrawals within first (5) days of first class.
  • No refunds after the first week of class.
  • Fees for the Application, Express Mail, and Medical Insurance fees are non-refundable.

Cancellation

Students can cancel their enrollment without penalty within five business days of orientation. Refunds are processed within 30 days after receiving such written notice.
